A great honour for Neel Jani: the driver of the A1 Team Switzerland has been placed on the list of candidates for the “international driver of the year” award by renowned British motorsport magazine “Autosport”. The “Oscars of motorsport” will be awarded in London on Sunday.

Next to Jani, the illustrious circle of nominees in the category “International driver of the year” includes Lewis Hamilton, Felipe Massa, Robert Kubica, Sebastian Vettel, Scott Dixon and Allan McNish. It would be presumptuous to expect the 25-year old from Berne to beat motorsport greats like the reigning Formula 1 world champion or the runner-up. But the nomination alone already is an appreciation for Jani and the A1 Team Switzerland. Thus, “Autosport” acknowledges the title win in the World Cup of Motorsport in the 2007/2008 season.
