Ali Williams is to host the official launch of the Skycity Supercar Show in partnership with A1GP World Cup of Motorsport.

This event falls on the evening of the five-day expo – featuring some of the world’s most desired supercars on the market today – which takes place from January 15 – 20 at the Skycity Convention Centre, Auckland.

A die-hard car fan himself, Williams is relishing the chance to share his passion for motorsports and get up close and personal with the prestigious cars.

“Wild horses couldn’t drag me from a show like this,” Williams says.

“These are the cars dreams are made of. They take leading roles in action films and they represent the hottest and fastest on the market. Positioned right alongside superb specimens from the A1GP series, this is a car show like no other. I’m stoked to be cutting the ribbon of this A-class event.”

Ali Williams will be joined by A1 Team New Zealand drivers Jonny Reid, Chris van der Drift and Earl Bamber for the inaugural launch.

While the show-stopper will be the national unveiling of the A1 Team New Zealand’s new Ferrari-powered Black Beauty, the supercar exhibition ranks close behind, clocking up a collective value of almost $10 million worth of prestige motorcars.

Highlights include:
Aston Martin DBS worth $495,000 – the newest model, this Aston features in the latest Bond film Quantum of Solace.

Bentley GT Speed worth $450,000 – the GT Speed is seriously fast. The first Bentley to top the 200 mph (321kmh) mark, with a top speed of 203 mph (326kmh). It does 0 – 100kmh in a factory-estimated 4.3 seconds.

Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder worth $490,000 – reaches a top speed of 314kmh with the roof up and 307kmh with the roof down. Accelerating from 0 – 100kmh in 4.3 seconds.

Audi R8 worth $275,000 – one of the most stunning looking cars on the road, capable of over 300kmh and 0 to 100kmh in 4.6 seconds.

Porsche GT2 worth $455,000 – the classic supercar, 390kW (530hp)@6,500 rpm, 0-100kmh in 3.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 329kmh.
