A1 Team Indonesia fans enjoyed a day out at the Pejaten Village Mall over the weekend in a ‘meet the team’ and autograph session. A1 Team Indonesia drivers Satrio Hermanto and Zahir Ali were on hand to sign autographs and participate in photo sessions. The meet the fans activity is part of the promotional campaign for A1GP Lippo Village, welcoming A1GP World Cup of Motorsport back to Indonesian shores and, most importantly, heralding the country’s first ever street race next month.
Fans who turned up to meet their heroes were not disappointed as they were not only given the chance to meet the drivers in person along with photo opportunities, they were also treated to a Q & A session which allowed them to win tickets to the A1GP Lippo Village, Indonesia. Five lucky winners walked away with the chance to witness 22 drivers in their “Powered by Ferrari” cars race for the pride of their nation on February 6 – 8.
According to Satrio, “it’s always a pleasure to be able to give back to the fans and thank them for all the support they have showed over the years for the team. We’ve always aimed to take motorsport to the fans and this is one way in which we’ve been able to give our supporters a closer relationship with the team. This is the first session of a three part “Meet the Fans” programme which will give fans more opportunities to connect with us as we head into the 5th leg of the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport here in Indonesia”, he added.
A1GP World Cup of Motorsport fans that missed out on the first session need not be disheartened, as they still have two more opportunities to meet the team and win tickets to the race. The team will be out on the 17th in Gajah Mada Plaza and again on the 31st of January in Supermall Karawaci. Fans are encouraged to come early so not to miss their chance to win tickets to what promises to be Indonesia’s most exciting and memorable race event on the 2009 calendar.
Race fans can expect thrilling action on every corner as street circuits are precisely designed to thrill and provide spectators the ultimate racing experience. As part of the pre-race activities, the organisers have scheduled many events that prelude the A1GP Lippo Village, amongst them is A1GP Show Car which will be on public display in several malls and places of interests in and around Jakarta; and also for the first time a Race Queen Competition will be held to pick the Grid Girls.
