There has been a lot of talk about Honda dropping out of Formula One and it would be a blow if this happened.
But it would not be the first time a big name has disappeared from the F1 scene and it would not be the last so it would not be a catastrophe for the sport.
These are tough times and the global recession is biting into all sports – not just those involved with motor racing. But fortunately A1GP has been structured so the difficult economy will not create too many problems.
Everyone knows where they are with their cars, which were upgraded after last season, and everything has been planned for a successful racing calendar for some time.
We have fast, attractive races and fans are responding to that. All of motorsport, not just F1, should take notice of the way A1GP conducts its business.
Hopefully Honda will survive as they are a welcome addition to the F1 fold and no one wants to see a big name like that disappear from the scene.
It was a very disappointing time for me and the rest of Team Brazil in the latest A1GP event at the Taupo Motorsport Park in New Zealand.
We collided with Monaco in the sprint race when our driver Felipe Guimaraes had the back of his car hit by Clivio Piccione. Felipe went into a spin which left him at the back of the field and he was out of the race to score points.
And then the same thing happened in the feature race and Felipe was docked 25 seconds for his part in an avoidable collision.
There was some interesting racing with Switzerland picking up maximum points in the main attraction which means they only have Ireland above them in the standings.
It is no surprise both Switzerland and Ireland, whose main driver is Adam Carroll, are doing well because they have a consistent team.
We’re showing loyalty to Felipe, who is a very good driver, because we believe that is the way forward and we will be working very hard ahead of South Africa next weekend.
