Johannesburg based company Insitu-Pipelines has agreed a commercial sponsorship deal with series leaders A1 Team Ireland for this weekend’s A1GP World Cup of Motorsport™ event in Kyalami. The company, which specialises in Pipeline Construction and Rehabilitation, provides contracted engineering services to the civil engineering sector and was founded by locally based Irish entrepreneur Pius Walsh.

Insitu-Pipelines’ brand will be predominantly displayed on the rear wing and mirrors of the Team Ireland A1GP Powered by Ferrari car which Adam Carroll will drive in tomorrow’s Sprint and Feature races as he seeks to strengthen Ireland’s position at the head of the World Cup of Motorsport.

The deal came together following a successful reception for Team Ireland at the residence of the Irish Ambassdor to South Africa, Ambassador Colin Wrafter, on Friday 20th February where the team was represented by Seatholders Mark Gallagher and John Hynes along with rookie driver Niall Quinn. John Hynes, who has been heavily involved in civil engineering projects in Ireland throughout his career, brokered the agreement with Insitu-Pipelines.

“We are delighted to support Team Ireland for the A1GP event here in Kyalami,” said Insitu-Pipelines founder and Director Pius Walsh. “It is impressive to see Ireland leading the World Cup of Motorsport and this event in Johannesburg gives my business an excellent opportunity to underline its engineering products and services in a sport where world class engineering is essential. I wish the team every success for tomorrow.”

“Team Ireland’s successes this season provide an exceptional opportunity for Irish businesses and entrepreneurs all over the world to become associated with a highly successful national team, and underlines once again the appeal of A1GP,” said John Hynes on behalf of the team. “Naturally we aim to give Insitu-Pipelines a successful outing with the team this weekend as the team strives to sustain its lead in the series.”
