A1 Team Ireland has invited young Irish driver Peter Dempsey to the Brands Hatch round of the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport™. Dempsey recently won the Motorsport Ireland Young Racing Driver of the Year 2008 and has just joined the AIM Autosport team to enter the 2009 Star Mazda Championship™ in America.
The 22 year old from Dublin will spend the weekend working with the Irish team as they go about their work in the garage and in the pit lane. As part of his reward for winning the Motorsport Ireland Young Racing Driver of the Year award, he will also attend engineering meetings and will test the A1GP powered by Ferrari car during this summer.
“Peter is clearly a very talented driver and we are looking forward to working with him a Brands Hatch.” said Team Principal Mark Gallagher. “We aim to give him a full insight into the team and A1GP so that when he tests for us later in the summer he will already be familiar with how everything works.”
