A1 Team Germany is to welcome back Michael Ammermuller to its starting line up at Brands Hatch this weekend.

Since the team rejoined the championship in Gauteng in February, both Ammermuller and Andre Lotterer have raced, with the latter scoring two points for the team in the Algarve.

However, Ammermuller’s knowledge of Brands Hatch from A1GP has given him the edge, and he will race this weekend. Lotterer is unavailable for selection, because he is racing in Japan this weekend.

Last season the 23-year-old was in contention for victory at Brands Hatch, until a puncture ruined his day.

Ammermuller is just four caps shy of becoming Germany’s all time record cap holder. Ammermuller has started 16 races, with Nico Hulkenberg, part of the 2006/07 championship-winning squad, on 20 caps.
