A1 Team USA driver J.R. Hildebrand turned a best-lap time of 1 minute, 11.994 seconds to secure the fourth starting position for tomorrow’s A1GP World Cup of Motorsport Sprint race at Brands Hatch. Hildebrand then qualified 11th for tomorrow’s Feature event, which is the final series outing of the 2008-09 A1 season.

Ireland swept both pole positions for tomorrow’s event.

Sunday’s Brands Hatch Sprint race begins at 5 a.m. (Eastern) while the Feature is set for 9 a.m. (Eastern).

J.R. Hildebrand, Andretti Green A1, A1 Team USA:

“Obviously, we’d love to be a bit further up on the Feature race grid, but we can’t complain about our Sprint qualifying session. We chose to use PowerBoost in that session and it paid off. The guys have worked really hard all season to find what we need to contend and I’m really glad we’re going to be in a position to do that in the Sprint race – at least based on our qualifying run. And, we’re not going to give up on the Feature; we just need to be smart and put together a perfect race to get ourselves up front.”
