A1 Team Mex has closed the season strongly by finishing third and sixth in the Sprint and Feature races in Brands Hatch.
On the Sprint race, Duran, title driver for the Mexican team had a great start and took the lead, and kept until his pit stop, from which he returned in fourth position. When he passed United States he was set for his team’s first podium of the season.
“On the first race we did a tiny mistake in the pits and lost P1, but I have to thank the team for a great job that in the end got us a podium, which is great for us and for our work in progress for the next season”, said Duran.
Duran started the Feature race from 13th on the grid, and with some good overtaking maneuvers he finished 6th after 49 laps around the historic Brands Hatch circuit.
With their performance of this weekend, the Mexican team added 11 additional points to their tally and finished the nation’s championship in 13th place, with 19 points. The team expects to continue the good trend when the new season begins in a few months.
