Hampton Downs may not be ready in time and New Zealand fans may miss out on a round of the A1GP series.
New Zealand looks likely to miss out on a round of the A1GP championship this season.
The yet to be completed Hampton Downs has been named as the preferred circuit, but the 2009-10 calendar currently features just two rounds.
New Zealand A1GP team seat holder Colin Giltrap says while Hampton Downs may be operational in time, championship bosses will want it to be up to international standard.
Giltrap says the way the weather is he doubts the circuit will be sufficiently complete to host an event.
Giltrap is all but certain his team will be on the start line in the series-opening event at Surfers Paradise in October.
