Malaysia’s former grand prix racer Alex Yoong has joined the new Lotus F1 team as head of its young driver development programme in Asia, the Malaysian-backed outfit said on Sunday.
Nino Judge, whose Litespeed Formula Three team made an initial application to enter Formula One as Lotus last June, will run the European side.
Yoong, Malaysia’s first Formula One driver, started 14 grands prix for the now-defunct Minardi team in 2001-02 without scoring a point.
Alex was also an A1GP race driver for A1Team Malaysia with 4 wins from 54 races.
